EXPERIENCE

Hi, I'm William (Bill) Edmonds, owner of CRASH FACTS.  I am an honorably retired and decorated Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Deputy Sheriff with over 21 years of service.  Sixteen years were directly related to Traffic Collision Investigation and Reconstruction.  I was also a member of the Department's Traffic Collision Response Team.  As a member, I was responsible for 24 hour-a-day call-out for County vehicle or Deputy involved serious injury or fatal collisions anywhere within southern California and assisting any city within Los Angeles County when additional expertise was needed.  I instructed at the Sheriff's Training And Regional Services (STARS) Center in all areas of traffic training for both recruit and in-service training.  I also taught Nationally for the National Sheriff's Association and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the areas of Driving Under the Influence, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Safety Belt Usage and Enforcement and the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Program.  During my career with LASD, I was a Certified Drug Recognition Expert and DRE Instructor.  I was responsible for the Department's DRE Program and oversaw 50 deputies.

During the course of my own business I have preformed investigations and / or reconstructions for such insurance companies as AAA, AIG, Allstate, E-surance, Farmers, Federated Mutual, Fred Loya, Gieco, GMAC, The Hartford, Progressive, Prudential, Safeco, Scottsdale, State Farm, 21th Century, Travelers and Zurich.  I have also instructed for the National Institute of Forensic Studies in the areas of Low-Speed Collision Investigation and Reconstruction and Occupant Kinematics.  Between LASD and my own company, I have investigated and / or reconstructed well over 8,000 collisions.

LITIGATION

I have testified hundreds of times during my career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and now with CRASH FACTS in both criminal and civil court cases, depositions and arbitrations.

I have qualified and testified as a Traffic Collision Reconstruction Expert in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego and Marin Counties, California - Municipal and Superior Courts; Brooklyn, New York - Supreme Court; Las Vegas, Nevada - Superior Court; Beaumont and Edinburg, Texas - Superior Court; Maricopa County, Arizona - Superior Court; Mohave County, Arizona - Consolidated and Superior Courts.  I have also qualified and testified as a Traffic Collision Reconstruction Expert in Los Angeles Federal Court.

I have NEVER failed to qualify as a Traffic Collision Reconstruction Expert.
