What does this have to do with collision reconstruction???
|
EVERYTHING...
If your client's vehicle, or the vehicle that struck your client, is one of the over 25 million GM, Ford or Isuzu vehicles that are equiped with a CRASH DATA RECORDER, or EVENT DATA RECORDER.
Once each second, the module reads the most recent sensor data and stores them in a buffer that is constantly being refreshed, keeping only the most recent five seconds of data. The module is designed so that during a collision event, milli-seconds after the air bag deployment algorithm has enabled, all the data stored in memory is permanently written to the EEPROM. Once a deployment record is written, it cannot be erased, cleared, or altered by service or crash investigation personnel.
Even if the event was not of sufficient force to cause the air bags to deploy, there could be a "Non-Deployment" event. This can include lower speed, rollover, sideswipe, and side-impact collisions. Even if the "Evidence Eradication Team" (fire department) cuts the battery cables post-collision, the retrievable data would have been stored within milliseconds of the collision event and available. Due to the variety of circustances in any collision, there are no guarantees of what data may be recorded, or may be recoverable, in any specific case.

CRASH FACTS has the equipment, and certified factory training necessary to retrieve the data.
Couple this with a fully qualified traffic collision reconstruction specialist and you now have the total package to handle your traffic collisions needs.
If you would like more information, or need to arrange the recovery of data from an Event Data Recorder, please contact CRASH FACTS.
