Hi, I'm Bill Edmonds, President and Owner of CRASH FACTS. I am a decorated and honorably retired Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff with over 21 years of service. Sixteen years were directly related to Traffic Collision Investigation / Reconstruction and teaching Nationally.

I was also a member of the Department's Traffic Collision Response Team. As a member I was responsible for 24 hour a day call-out to County vehicle or Deputy involved serious injury and fatal collisions anywhere within southern California and assisting any city within Los Angeles County when additional expertise was needed. I instructed at the Sheriff's Training And Regional Services (STARS) Center in all areas of Traffic Training for both Recruit and In-Service Training. I also taught Nationally for the National Sheriff's Association in the areas of Driving Under the Influence and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing; and for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the areas of Safety Belt Enforcement and Examination and the DRE program. During my career with the LASD, I was a Certified Drug Recognition Expert and a DRE Instructor. I was responsible for the Department's DRE program and oversaw 50 Deputies.
I am a Certified Crash Data Retrieval Technician specializing in the downloading of data from the vehicles Event Data Recorder or "Black Box".
During the course of my own business I have performed investigations and/or reconstructions for such insurance companies as AAA, Allstate, Esurance, Farmers, Geico, The Hartford, Progressive, Prudential, Safeco, State Farm, 20th Century and Travelers. I also instructed for the National Institute of Forensic Studies in the areas of Low-Speed Collision Investigation and Reconstruction, Occupant Kinematics, and Advanced Collision Reconstruction.
I have investigated over 8,000 collisions.

I have testified hundreds of times during my career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and now with CRASH FACTS. I have qualified as a Traffic Collision Reconstruction Expert in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Marin Counties, California - Municipal and Superior Courts; and Las Vegas, Nevada and Beaumont, Texas - Superior Courts. I have also qualified as a Traffic Collision Reconstruction Expert in Los Angeles Federal Court. I have never failed to qualify as a traffic collision reconstruction expert.
Now with over 27 years of experience, I am offering my professional expertise to the private sector to aid in both civil and criminal litigation.
